This piece is from art AS. My theme was 'waterways' and at first I found primary resources in lakes and rivers etc, however further into the project I discovered the story of Narcissus. A Greek myth where narcissus fell in love with his own reflection in the water, ending in his death. I used acrylic paints to recreate a photograph I had originally taken of my friend. I edited the photograph on Adobe Photoshop so that the image I was painting was a reflection. The flower in the centre is a narcissus flower, a key element of the myth.
