Mono-print A1 work

Whilst in the first stages of my foundation course, I was given the chance to take part in some printing workshops and although I had done printing as part of my A-level in textiles, I was shown in depth the different types of print. For mono-printing we were only given limited colours to work with, allowing us to create our own colour palettes with only 2 or 3 shades.

The development work for mono-printing gave me a chance to explore the colours, shapes and negative spaces found in printed materials. For making the print, I found inspiration from still life setups and I found that this gave me a sense of freedom as even something as boring as a key allowed me to create something with such potential to be made into garments, interior, etc.
