William Morris inspired embroidery

The arts and crafts movement of the 1800s saw artists moving their work from the industrial age to that of craftsmanship. It allowed room for hand-made items to be crafted in textiles, furniture, etc. Whilst researching my 'future fashion' project, I found surface pattern with intricate detail was of plenty so I created embroidery samples to develop further. I chose to look at the work of William Morris. His wallpapers gave me this inspiration to create this free machine embroidery. I worked on to 3 layers of fabric, then cutting away small pieces of it to reveal the materials underneath.
